First Time Homebuyer Seminars:

The Homeownership Center helps people become knowledgeable and stable long-term homeowners by emphasizing financial literacy, mortgage readiness, anti-predatory lending education, and consumer protection. The program is tailored to each individual participant and offers comprehensive homeownership education through a series of steps, from orientation to education to resource connections.

Post Purchase Workshop:

Post-Purchase education and counseling is a vital part of the homebuyer education process because it supports successful long-term homeownership. Many low-income and minority households often have limited access to conventional financial services they are more likely to access high-cost alternatives. These alternatives include pay-day lenders, check cashing outlets, rent-to-own stores, and too often predatory lenders.

Foreclosure Intervention Workshop:

The Homeownership Center also offers intensive foreclosure intervention and mitigation services for homeowners who have fallen behind.  Services include credit counseling, loan modification negotiations, refinancing and short-sale referrals, and financial analysis and planning.

Foreclosure Intervention Workshops are held every Tuesday at 5:30pm alternating between English and Spanish.
